Speech in the Natural Context
Models and Methods for the Analysis of Speech Under Real Communicative Conditions
25-27 January, Bolzano-Bozen
Speech data collected from real communicative contexts is characterized by numerous factors such as the dialogic organization of interaction, simultaneity of information sources, dynamic nature of the signal, and noisiness of environments in which they are produced, just to name a few. These conditions underlie all natural communicative speech events and they are part of both speakers and listeners’ everyday experiences. As such, they constitute an essential aspect of human-to-human and human-to-machine communication, while contributing significantly to signal interpretation.
The aim of the conference is to offer an opportunity to discuss how to integrate all the different components of the speech signal as produced under real communicative conditions, and the many dimensions of the communicative situation.
